I am the on-site owner of The Goddard School in Kent. After working many years in the Early Childhood field I decided to create my own career path that lets me continue my passion of working with children and Goddard was the perfect fit. Goddard’s philosophy encompasses everything I believe every child should have access to in their learning endeavors. A safe, hands on, child led, fun learning experience where children can be excited to come every day and learn to their highest potential with the support of professional educated teachers. I have a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington in Early Childhood and Family Development. I am excited to provide children a safe place to be themselves, explore, and ultimately learn and grow to become school ready, career ready, and life ready.
I've been in Early Childhood Education for over 14 years! I am a mother of 4 beautiful children and have a loving husband who has been my rock for the past 17 years! I started my Early Childhood journey in 2009. I graduated with my ECE certificate at Renton Technical College where I transferred to Green River College and earned my AA. I am nearing completion of my BA in Early Childhood Education at UW. I firmly believe that children learn in environments that provide room for exploration, exciting their curiosity to know more, all while feeling safe and cared for. I hope to bridge the school to home pathway that supports our parents needs, student's goals, and faculty voices. The Goddard School promotes and stands by having a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment while providing the building blocks for successful learners. When not at Goddard, I enjoy reading, being a team mom for sports, traveling, and taking care of our pups named Choppa and Drako. Looking forward to meeting you!
I graduated from the University of Washington and received my Bachelor’s in Psychology, with a minor in Teaching, Education and Justice. Currently working on my Master’s in Child Psychology at well. My schooling taught me much about child development, mental health, and serving my community. However, I believe that it’s my experience working with communities in which I’ve learned the most. When individuals ask me how long I’ve worked with children, my response is since I was a child. Growing up my parents owned an eco-therapeutic farm where we taught lesson plans at schools in relation to how working with both agriculture and livestock can be holistic for your mind as well as your body. Since, I have worked in a variety of school settings, as well as in mental health support-related childcare settings. Some of my knowledge outside of childcare includes ASL, ABA therapy techniques, and creating modified behavior plans. Outside of work, I enjoy my time with my two corgis and family.
