Bios

  • Allison Miller

    DVM

Dr. Allison Miller grew up in Ohio but fell in love with the Pacific Northwest when she moved to Portland, Oregon as a young child. She received both her Bachelor of Science and Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Oregon State University. After graduating, she completed an internship at Animal Specialty Group in Los Angeles with additional training in emergency medicine, neurology, internal medicine, surgery, and oncology. Even after a year of California sun, she eagerly wished to return to the Pacific Northwest and joined the VCA Kent Animal Hospital in August 2011. She has enjoyed meeting and caring for all the wonderful pets and families here at VCA Kent Animal Hospital. Her particular interests include emergency care and internal medicine, but what she really loves is talking with pet owners to find a unique health plan that works for both you and your pet. Other interests include teaching her cat, Sibo, how to play fetch as well as salsa dancing, live theater, and traveling.

  • Rachael Vellandi

    DVM

Dr. Rachael Vellandi grew up in the Pacific Northwest, with an early interest in helping animals of all shapes and sizes. After completing veterinary school at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, she returned to help the animals in the community that she loves. Dr. Vellandi joined the hospital in 2013. She believes that prevention and early detection of disease is the key to a long, happy and healthy life. Her veterinary medical interests include neurology, surgery, epidemiology, and orthopedics, but her real passion lies in educating clients to better understand their pet's health concerns. When not working, she enjoys exploring new places with a camera in hand and her dogs by her side. Tula, her cat, prefers to wreak havoc at home while she is out and about. On rainy days she likes to catch up on new movies, work on art and craft projects, and expand her understanding of the world around her.
